is it bad to want to scream "shut up!"?

I sit across from a very loud coworker.

She talks loudly.

She eats loudly.

She chats into her cell phone at a high decibel all day long.

And she never shuts her door.

Today, she's blaring her music.

The best part?

She's singing along.

To "It's A Hard Knock Life" from the Annie soundtrack.

Imitating an 8-year old's voice.

Lord, help me.

She has a door? I vote for the next time she's talking loudly on the phone, you go over, pantomime some sort of "I'm working over here and don't want to disturb your conversation" gesture and then shut her door for her. The more confusing the gesture, the better.

I used to sit outside the office of the VP of Mergers & Acquisitions. He was a loud talker and I would often close his door because I didn't think everyone needed to know what he was talking about.

People who listen to music should have iPods or close the door and have the music low enough no one else hears it.

I don't think you need to pantomime, I think you just need to get up and close her door. If she asks, tell her the truth. I can't imagine you're the only one annoyed by her bad behavior.

Some people just want attention. Actually, that's why I started a blog :)) .

I vote for shutting her door as well!

LMAO! I once shared an office with a woman who ate ice constantly. I was almost homicidal!
